"Like A Spotlight" Poem for Divine Science

Like A Spotlight

When we were young
We were silent, no words were said
No love could help to hide us
We would laugh our pride away
And hide our drunken goodbyes
But we found forgiveness in the morning
Thank God for the past
'Cause we knew and we stayed together
And keep our heads low
'Cause each day was a fight
And we never made it in the city
And all the while we
Were looking up at the early stars
In the shallow summer night
I remember the light
Like a spotlight
On the sun and I heard you
Standing there as we kissed
I remember the moment
As we lay here by the fireside
And I can't forget those nights
As we watched the big wedding
And all the folks walk out the front door

What is Prayer?

And so it is.
